Half Moon Resort Montego Bay
We are proud of our heritage and are committed to preserving
our beautiful piece of paradise. As the winner of four major
green hotel awards, we make every effort to harmoniously
co-exist with our environment, while still maintaining the
highest standards of excellence that our guests expect.
We believe you will find an unhurried, relaxed atmosphere
and a friendly, well-trained staff who caters to your every
wish. Half Moon is a place where you can be as active or
as laid back as you desire.
Swim with the Dolphins at Half Moon
Guests will now be able to experience the thrill of getting
to know the dolphins at the resort’s new Dolphin Lagoon,
a large natural pool in a cove near Sunrise Beach.
These programs represent an opportunity to come in contact
with dolphins in their natural environment and to see up
close their joy and serenity. The experience begins with
a brief orientation so participants can learn about the
behaviour of dolphins and how the trainers communicate with
them through hand signals.A trainer will then ‘introduce’
the guests to the dolphins in preparation of their adventure.
Half Moon Accomodations
Beautifully landscaped, each Royal Villa provides guests
the ultimate in privacy and gracious living. Only the finest
amenities and services including landscaped private pool
and lounge area, elegantly appointed living and dining areas,
and services of a personal maid, butler and cook are provided.
After a day of pampering, guests may retire to their own,
en-suite guest room. Each Royal Villa is also equipped with
a full kitchen, laundry, choice of five- to seven-guest
rooms, and high-speed Internet access. The Royal Villas
are ideal for large families, family reunions and group
visits.
Golfing
Consistently ranked one of the top golf courses in the
world, the classic Robert Trent Jones Snr. course is sculpted
out of the foothills of the western Jamaican coastline,
and has an international reputation for being challenging
and breathtaking. A member of Jack Nicklaus’ “Great
Golf Resorts of the World,” Half Moon has hosted a
number of prestigious tournaments including the Jamaica
Open Golf Championship, the Dunhill Cup Final of the Americas,
and the Red Stripe Pro-Am.
With 7,119 yards of difficult driving areas, plenty of
bunkering, and great undulating greens, this course puts
up a challenge. Among its unforgettable holes is the 535-yard
third hole and the relatively short, 362-yard fourth hole.
With four tee markers on every hole, scratch golfers and
beginners will find an enjoyable challenge as they tackle
the Robert Trent Jones Snr.’ design and the ever-present
Caribbean trade winds.
Dining
Early morning risers may enjoy freshly-brewed Blue Mountain
coffee and a light, a la carte breakfast, while others might
sink their teeth into one of the Caribbean`s most elaborate
breakfast buffets with freshly squeezed juices (including
watermelon and mango); a selection of traditional international
hot and cold entrees, and a clever display of fresh local
fruit, cheeses, breads and pastries.
Weddings
From coordinating the ceremony and reception to organizing
all of the important “details” that go into
planning the perfect wedding – the photographer, band,
minister, and even a bridesmaid and groomsman, if needed!
Our wedding specialists will be pleased to help as much
or as little as you would like.
Kids at Half Moon
A variety of supervised crafts, activities and adventures
including nature walks, treasure hunts, tug-o-war, water
games, Jamaican story times, costume shows and reggae dance
classes are offered throughout the week. Every Sunday, children
may participate in the popular Plant-a-Tree program, part
of the resort`s environmental awareness program that happens
to be a lot of fun.
